Set screws are defined as bolt type fasteners because of their non-heads, with threads made across the complete shank in reverse to hexagon-bolts, which are partially threaded. Complete threading gives them an advantage in that they can be used in many ways and many types of machinery without running out of threads. These screws also have hexagonal nuts and washers to suit most screws and tapped holes, a feature that enhances their suitability in both construction and engineering.
